What is play?

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) has recognised play as a fundamental right to a child’s development. It is the child’s way of understanding the world around them, and extensive research shows that play is vital for healthy brain development. This brain development is at its peak during the first five years of life.

What is Aístear?

Aístear is the Irish word for journey, and forms the curriculum framework for children from birth to six years old. At Kids Klubs, we show evidence of Aistear’s aims and learning goals, through regular observations, which detail your child’s learning and what we will do next to support their growth, through individual learning journals and scrapbooks, and monthly planning based on the interests of the children.
